On February 26, 2000, I visited Mound City, located near Chillicothe, Ohio. It consists of 23 burial mounds, enclosed by a low earthen wall, with entrances at the East and West sides of the wall. It was built by the Hopewell and is the largest concentration of burial mounds in the United States.
As I dowsed within the entrance areas, I located a grid pattern. Also, I detected a line connecting 4 of the mounds and running parallel with the north wall. At the site of a previous charnel house, I found a spoke-like pattern of 37 lines focused at the center point. There is an elongated mound near the center of the enclosure just north-east of the tallest mound. I traced a spiral pattern that ran clockwise 3 times around the elongated mound and then started winding in a spiral shaped pattern counter-clockwise around the tall mound.
