I didn't think much more about dowsing until January of 1997, when Marlon and Pam invited me to their house to celebrate Marlon's birthday. Some of my other high school friends, Mike and Rick were there. Mike mentioned that his well was dry and that he needed to drill for a new one. I offered to help dowse for a new location, which started a conversation on dowsing. Later, we were gathered around a bonfire and Rick asked me to do some dowsing. Darby Creek runs along the border of Marlon's back yard and there is a stream of water that runs through a concrete culvert before it empties into the creek. I tried dowsing several places, finding no response until I walked over the stream of water that was running through the culvert. This was the first time that I was able to verify a relationship between the dowsing response and a stream of water.
